You gotta have RULES! We aim to keep FCARL.Org a family-friendly
site that is an educational and enjoyable experience for all visitors,
and we can't do that without your cooperation. Like any fun community,
there are certain rules of conduct that we expect from you.
NO running with scissors!
NO peeing in the pool!
NO poking somebody's eye out with that!
NO jumping on the bed unless we're invited!
Oh, and here are a few more to keep the lawyers happy...
Submission Rules
By submitting your original stories, articles, photographs or artwork
to FCARL.Org ("the Site"), you agree to the following:
1. By submitting content to the Site (i.e., pictures, stories,
poems, quotes), you automatically grant to us the royalty-free, perpetual,
irrevocable, non-exclusive and fully sublicensable right and license to
use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works
from, distribute, perform and display such content (in whole or part)
worldwide and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media,
or technology now known or later developed.
2. By providing or submitting content, you warrant and represent that
you own or otherwise control all of the rights to the content, that the
content does not violate any law, regulation or any right of any third
party and is not designed to or will in any way have deleterious effect
on the Site, other users or any computer, network, software or hardware.
3. No compensation of any kind will be paid and you agree that none is
owed with respect to any use by the Site or its licensees or business
partners of your content.
4. We are under no obligation to post or use any content and may remove
any content at any time at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to
edit any submissions for any reason. In particular, obscenity and foul
language will not be posted.
Profile Page Rules
If you choose to have a personal profile page on the Site, we expect you
to act appropriately. We have swear filters installed in the various interactive
areas of the Site, and we won't allow language that is racist, sexually-related,
or violent-sounding. If you wouldn't say it in front of your Grandma,
don't say it on FCARL.Org! If we find inappropriate material on your profile
page, your account will be deleted and we will telepathically let your
parents and best friends know. Boy, will you be in for it.
Comments and Posting Rules
The Site allows visitors to post comments to articles published on the
site. Visitors may also post comments and questions in our Forum area.
These are regularly monitored for innappropriate behaviour and content,
and neither will be tolerated. If you see postings on the Site which you
feel are inappropriate, report them immediately to policies@fcarl.org.
No Inappropriate Language
Duh. We have swear filters installed, and we don't allow language that
is racist, sexually-related, or violent-sounding. If you wouldn't say
it in front of your parents or your teacher, don't say it in on FCARL.Org.
No Inappropriate Log-in Names
You know what we mean. If you wouldn't call yourself that in front of
your grandparents, don't use it here.
No Monkey-Wrenching
What's monkey-wrenching? That's stuff like faking people, flooding the
site with the same message over and over, or typing in nonsense like "Agfhgffda
ashdhfdhg." No one wants to see that and it just clogs up the system.
It also makes it harder for the monitors to do their jobs, and they'll
warn you or kick you out.
No Javascript
Don't even think of trying to post javascript on the site -- you can be
banned for it.
No posting of large graphics
Not everybody has a fast processor or modem, and it really slows things
down. If you're going to post graphics, keep them small, post them only
once, and do it for a reason rather than just because you're bored
No Inappropriate Pictures
Anybody caught posting graphics of a pornographic nature will be immediately
banned for life, and their internet service provider will be notified.
We log IP addresses and WILL report you to your ISP. Yes, we can be that
mean.
