The Floyd County Animal Rescue League (FCARL) has been working to protect the animals of New Albany, Indiana, since it was established 25 years ago. The support of its members and the community in Floyd County have made it possible for us to realize some great achievements. One of our biggest successes so far was the construction of the new shelter in New Albany. One of our current goals is dramatically decreasing the number of adoptable animals who are authanized each year at the city shelter. We said from the beginning that we didn't want to build a better place for animals to die - our goal is to find a loving forever-home for every single adoptable animal who, through no fault of its own, ends up at the city shelter. What We DoWe volunteer at the New Albany Animal Shelter. We hold special programs and events to educate the public about animal care and pet population control. We also sponsor various fundraising events throughout the year to benefit the animals of Floyd County. The funds generated from these are used for everything from providing spay/neuter vouchers for low-income pet owners to feeding the animals at the shelter to promoting the adoption of animals at the shelter to providing medicine to treat animals at the shelter, and the list goes on! FCARL is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, which means your membership and donation are tax-deductible. FCARL is overseen by a by a that is elected each December to serve for the upcoming year. For more information about our organization, please contact us. What's New? |
I've never understood why women love cats. Cats are independent, they don't listen, they don't come in when you call, they like to stay out all night, and when they're home they like to be left alone and sleep. In other words, every quality that women hate in a man, they love in a cat. ~ Jay Leno
