Feline Fix Tuesday, May 20th

link to this article |  e-mail this article

Our next low-cost cat spay/neuter clinic will be held Tuesday, May 20th. At this event, your cat can receive spaying/neutering, rabies shot, and 1st infectious disease shot for only $40. We will fix cats that are in heat or pregnant, nursing (bring kittens), over 6 weeks of age, and feral (wild - these cats must be brought in traps, NOT carriers!). We WILL NOT fix a cat that the veterinarian thinks is sick. If you would like to register your cat for the Feline Fix, or to find out more information, please contact 949-9099.

Kittens can and do get pregnant at 4 months old! In 7 years, one female cat and its young can produce 420,000 kittens. Almost 8,000,000 dogs and cats are euthanized each year because there are no homes for them. Please help us reduce the number of unwanted animals in Southern Indiana by having your pet spayed or neutered!

link to this article |  e-mail this article

We will be holding our annual Yard Sale on Saturday, June 21st from 8:00am - 2:00pm at the Floyd County 4H Fairgrounds which is located at 2818 Green Valley Road in New Albany. Our HUGE Yard Sale will be held inside the big green barn. We invite you to come out to search through all of our bargains - you are sure to go home with plenty of treasures!!

Proceeds from the Yard Sale benefit the many programs FCARL has to help the animals of our community. By donating to and/or purchasing from the Yard Sale, you are helping FCARL continue to purchase vaccinations and medicines for animals at the New Albany Animal Shelter, offer spay/neuter assistance to low-income Floyd County residents to reduce the number of unwanted animals, continue with offsite adoptions & special adoption promotions, pay entry of animals into the breed rescue program, and help to improve pet care education!

WE NEED YOUR HELP! There are plenty of ways everyone can help us make this event a success!

WE NEED:

* VOLUNTEERS! - We are in need of volunteers on Friday, June 20th from Noon - 8:00pm to assist with receiving and pricing donations. We are also in need of volunteers the day of the Yard Sale from 7:30am - 3:30pm to help with sales, cashier, stocking, breaking down the yard sale, and preparing for Goodwill to pick up all unsold items by helping to place these items in boxes

* TABLES! - We are in need of extra tables to display Yard Sale items on. Do you have a long folding table that we may borrow for a couple of days? We would sure appreciate it!!

* STUFF, STUFF, STUFF! - Do you have a lot of extra things cluttering up your house that you are just not in need of? We would greatly appreciate your donations of gently used items! Something that is taking up needed space in your house may be just what our customers are looking for! We will be taking donations from noon on Friday, June 20th until 7:00 p.m. that evening. You can help us out even more by having your items priced and ready to sale! But of course if you do not have time to price your items, we will be more than happy to do that!

* CUSTOMERS! - Come shop with us on June 21st! Prices are going up up up in the retail stores! Why not stop by our huge Yard Sale to see if we may have just what you are looking for at a small fraction of the price you would pay elsewhere! Also, please help us advertise this event by telling all of your friends, family, and co-workers about it!

We will have tickets to our Pancake Fundraising Breakfast for sale at the Yard Sale. The breakfast will consist of all you can eat pancakes, juice, coffee, and milk and will be held on Saturday, August 2nd from 8am - 10am at the Applebee's on Grant Line Road in New Albany. link to this article |  e-mail this article

Our 2nd Annual Red Hot Pet Lover’s Gala was held on Saturday, February 12th at The Grand in downtown New Albany. The evening was filled with great food, live entertainment, fun games, and plenty of fantastic items to bid on during the silent and live auctions. We raised over $5,500 from this event! The money raised from the Gala benefits the animals of Southern Indiana.

We would like to thank Sandy Payne, an FCARL Board member and the coordinator of this event, for her extraordinary efforts and the tremendous work she put into making this event such an enjoyment for our guests as well as such a success for FCARL. Great job, Sandy!!

We would also like to thank our volunteers, community, and area and nationwide businesses for their donations of time, effort, cakes, and auction items! We had a tremendous outpouring of generosity for which we are truly grateful!
